Privacy
What you share on this website, how it is used, and the choices you can make.
Information you provide
A grievance form asks for your name, mobile number, locality, grievance category and a description. You can also choose to attach supporting files.
- Your contact details help the office follow up on the grievance.
- Your locality and description help explain the issue and where it occurred.
- Account forms may ask for a mobile number, email address or password, depending on the sign-in option.
When you submit a grievance
Submitted grievance details and selected attachments are sent to the website’s server. A successful submission returns a reference number and stores the grievance for review.
- Closing or refreshing the page does not delete a submitted grievance.
- Text entered in an unfinished form may be lost when you close or refresh the page.
- Review your details and attachments before submitting.
Photos and documents
New grievance attachments require sign-in and are available to the resident who uploaded them and authorised office staff. Public news and event photos are handled separately. Files uploaded before this protection was introduced may previously have been publicly accessible.
- Crop or cover personal details that are not needed to explain the issue.
- Avoid including another person’s contact or identity details unless they are necessary.
- Removing a selected file before submission stops that file from being included in the submission.
Language and browser storage
The website saves your English or Tamil preference in a language cookie on this browser. The cookie is set to last for up to one year and is updated when you change the language.
- You can change the language using the website’s language control.
- You can clear the preference through your browser’s cookie settings.
- Clearing browser cookies does not delete information already submitted to the website.
Instagram and external websites
Instagram content is loaded when you choose to open an embedded post. Instagram may then receive information about your visit and use its own cookies.
- Government services, source credits and other external links take you to separate websites.
- Those websites have their own privacy notices and browser settings.
- You can read this website without opening an Instagram embed or an external link.
